Local charity marchers have celebrated the 66th anniversary of D-Day by completing their 66 mile march along the Normandy landing beaches. The team of Alex Holmes, Miles Cowburn and Carl Clark started at Sainte Mère Eglise and ended on the 6th June at Pegasus Bridge just outside Caen.
Stephen Spencer, Language Consultant to Nemco, and accountant Paul Raven ferried equipment in a Nemco van, providing meals en route, enabling the team to keep to schedule despite the fierce sun and their 66lb packs.
The final figure from sponsors is eagerly awaited but should hit the £2,500 target. This will be divided equally between the British Legion and Addenbrooke’s Hospital Childrens’ Metabolic Ward.
